Leftover Turkey Bones Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of leftover turkey meat, shredded
  • ½ cup of leftover doggy friendly cooked veggies (e.g. pumpkin, carrot, broccoli, green beans)
  • Water or low sodium chicken stock (make sure its onion and garlic free!)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups of spelt or buckwheat flour

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C (160 degrees C for fan forced).

2. Blend meat, veggies and egg in a food processor or blender. Add enough liquid (water/stock) to bring the consistency to that of thick gravy.

3. Pour into a bowl and add enough flour to bring together into a workable dough.

4. Roll out to around 1cm thick and cut out bone shapes (or any shape your doggy prefers!).

5. Bake in a preheated oven on a baking tray for 20 minutes or until golden.

6. Leave to cool in the oven (turned off) to harden.

Note: You can store these in a sealed container for up to 4 weeks.
