Recipe: Minty Fresh Doggy Biscuits

Minty fresh doggy biscuits

Here's a simple homemade recipe to help with unwanted smelly breath naturally.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brown rice flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped mint
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbs natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)

How to make:

  1. Preheat oven to 180° C
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper
  3. Combine brown rice flour and rolled oats in a large bowl
  4. Mix parsley, mint, water, coconut oil, peanut butter & baking powder until smooth
  5. Add half of the wet mixture to the brown rice mixture, stir, then add the rest and stir again with a wooden spoon or spatula
  6. Add extra water slowly, as needed
  7. Use your hands to knead the dough together
  8. Roll dough out between two pieces of waxed or parchment paper to desired thickness (about 1/4” thick)
  9. Remove top piece of paper, flip dough onto a counter coated with brown rice flour, remove wax paper, and then cut biscuits using a knife or cookie cutter
  10. Re-roll and cut scraps until you’ve used all the dough
  11. Place biscuits on parchment-lined baking sheets (or sheets lightly greased with oil)
  12. Bake for 18-22 minutes until the top of the biscuit has dried out completely
  13. Let biscuits cool on wire racks, then store in an airtight container.
